The EEE has a solid state drive. Also 16GB HDD is ridiculous, especially when charging $500.. what's a 160GB maxiPad going to cost? $5000? All these points are totally meaningless when we look at one all-important point. Multitasking. Something COMPUTERS have had for 15+ years. The maxiPad is an overblown organiser. And choosing to continually not offer flash support is highly offensive. maxiPAD - the offensive organiser.

Everyone who has looked at macintosh product without swearing their soul, to purchase every last one of them, would realise that mac charges money for the "trendy" side of the market rather than functionality. I personally prefer to spend less money for more functionality. And the whole touch screen is overplayed way too much. It's the macbook air all over again. The sony notebook compared to it was slightly larger, but OH NO! IT CAN"T FIT IN THE ENVELOPE!!! I think I'll go with the Half cost slightly smaller model thank you very much.

ahaha, yea right. Apple systems are purest form of crap nowdays consideing the price you pay for it. They were superior in the time when they had motorola processors and they were so optimized for it that they were far ahead of intel or amd based computers. Today they have intel duos and quads, which makes them overpirced pc-s with virtually no ability to upgrade other then installing windows or linux and buying a proper mouse and keyboard.

And for all the apple fanboys, you are actually proving right now how ignorant and without even the basic knowledge for the technology you are with your constant efforts to prove that ipad is widescreen. Ipad is NOT widescreen no matter how you turn it dipshits, just because the screen is wider then it's higher doesn't mean it's widescreen. There are standards for screen dimensions, but you wouldn't know anything about standards, because, well, you buy apple products.

I grant you that there are things that netbooks do that the ipad doesn't. Having said that, allow me to add something to the above steve jobs quote to make it more accurate. "The problem with netbooks is that they aren't better at ANYTHING that matters in a portable computer."

They crash and freeze so much, I've lost a lot of work and time to stupid mac computers. I mean, I save my projects frequently, but I'll still lose progress every time it crashes, which is quite often. A common complain in my media classes.

Here's a newflash, even turned sideways the iPad is not widescreen. It's much closer to 4:3 ratio, which you may remember as being the CRT monitor standard, as well as most TV's produced before 2000.

Just because a screen can be displayed wider than it is tall doesn't make it widescreen. The iPad screen is roughly 4:3 , the same as a 90's CRT monitor. A screen needs to be 16:10 minimum to be considered widescreen.

Apple OSs are crucially similar to other operating systems in that their usefulness relies solely on the user/s to maintain it. I know people with well-kept powerbooks which are extremely potent, and I know people with newly bought, $2,500 performance PCs that run like bullshit through a sieve.

Sideways it's not widescreen, it's a 4:3 aspect ratio. it's wideR sideways, but not widescreen. It'll have the sides cropped or the black bars along the top and bottom as if you were watching a widescreen movie on an old 4:3 aspect ratio tv.
